Cold brew coffee is super easy to make. With a little direction, some cheap equipment, you too can have the perfect cut of iced cold brew coffee.
Find the right Coffee
First, thing you'll need is a good coffee grinder. Cold brew coffee is the best when you use fresh coffee beans. Of course, you can get coffee already ground, but if you are a stickler for freshness and taste, then this is the best way to go. Of course, we suggest Volcanica Coffee. They offer free shipping when you order 4 bags or more and expedited shipping on smaller orders. They don't roast their beans until after you order it. And if you just want 1 bag, then they will make sure you receive the order within 2 business days of roasting them guaranteeing freshness.
If you don't have a coffee grinder, check out Amazon coffee grinders. They have several different products for any budget. You can find them for a low as $10 or as high as over $50.
Second thing you need to do is let your coffee grinds sit in water for about 12-24 hours. Get The Toddy cold brew maker. The Toddy comes with everything you need to make cold brew coffee. You'll need 12 ounces of ground coffee and 7 cups of water. You combined the coffee and water in the top filter and let it sit for 12-24 hours. The Toddy comes with a glass jar that you then dispense the concentrate into. You're done! That's it. The concentrate should be mixed in a ratio of about 1 part concentrate, 3 parts water or milk. We suggest using a nice tumbler to put your ice and cold brew coffee. A good tumbler will keep it nice and cold. I personally like the Yeti tumbler because it will keep your ice cubes for 8 hours or more! But find one that fits your budget and style.
Cold brew coffee is super easy to make at home and you can experiment with all the different flavors and varieties of beans out there.
